Great day market in Phuket Town. Small, but jammed with an array of bright colors, sweet smells, sour smells, spiky fruits, florescent fruits, mounds of curries, heaps of meat, plates of huge insects, the biggest green beans I have ever seen, and loads of little bins filled with spices. I wished we had an English speaking Thai to explain this culinary world to us because it’s so many unfamiliar foods that are mesmerizing to us foreigners!
One thing I do know is I have tried soy in a million different ways and I love it! Soy on a stick, deep fried soy, cubed soy, soy beans stuffed in soy, soy stuffed spring rolls, soy balls…keep it comin’.
- a massive array of meat
- Everywhere you look is bursting with colors, smells and textures
- unknown spiky fruit
- endless bananas
- tattered tarp/roof for mid-day mini showers
- colin negotiates -- bargain hard
