Andrew is a big martini guy. This was instilled by our friend Scott who would religiously have a martini everyday @ 7pm if not sooner.  Andrew now has transplanted this martini schedule and adheres to a strict martini diet as of late infusing a bit of hot pepper into the fray.  I’ve now burned my face off on 3 such martini occasions.  

Mondays are 2 for 1 mussels at Gazebo Wine Garden in the area Kings Cross.  2 for 1 on the hot Australian Ladies too!  Started the night off with a face melting hot pepper martini then headed to Mussels Monday.  Met DJ Hot Rod — a friend of Andrews — then ripped through 4 pots of mussels and wine wine wine.  Went on a little tour of the Kings Cross area picking up some more wine and some cigars along the way. Andrew showed us his old studio in a really cool part of town right next to the water where we kicked our shoes off, smoked cigars, drank wine and listened to Michael McDonald with our feet in the water.  REEEEEAAAALLLL   SMMOOOOOOOOOOOOTH. I can’t remember much more than that.  It was a good night — I’ll leave it at that.

We seriously stuffed our faces full of wine and mussels (well, actually I went for the delish stuffed mushrooms, those 3 boys finished 4 pots of mussels on their own!!). Great spot. Cool interior half open with heat lamps (they are really big on that here) half enclosed with very lush decor, like you are in a hip rainforest. Everyone in their was smokin’ hot and just uber-cool. I don’t know where they came from or what they do during the day, but they had a fab night look and I was pleased to be a part of that!

After the beach walk I do recall the last stages…we attempted to go to a sleazy strip club, but since only I would get in free as a lady we bailed on the plan and instead took our 2 bottles of wine to Rod’s rockin’ office where we played music, danced and went out on the balcony to look at the killer view of the famous Coca-Cola sign that sits at the end of Williams St marking the start of the Kings Cross neighborhood.
