Indian food is SO damn good it is a downright shame it generally looks kinda puke-ish! Hence we have very few food pics! Many dishes come in a gravy that’s brown or red and doesn’t look so appetizing. But the flavors! Hot damn!! I mean it’s the bomb. And so, so easy being veg here, many people are. Dishes are made for sharing, you’ll get 2 or 3 dishes along with some roti or naan (flat bread from the tandoori) and use the bread like a spoon of sorts to scoop into the different dishes. Mmmmmmmm.
We did a cooking class and I cannot wait to cook Indian when I get home. Rajisthani thalis are the best bang for your buck - 3 dishes and some rice all on one of those separated plates like you had as a baby.
Paranthas, samosas, chana masala, aloo gobi, navartan korma, malai kofta, dosas, uttapams, momos, garlic naan, tikka paneer…..
Fresh grilled snapper in Goa.
I am skeptical of their sweets. They are kinda gooey and weird. But these donut balls soaked in something are good, jalebis.
I had no problem eating only Indian food for 3 months. None at all. And the whole food myth, “if you go to India you’re gonna get sick”, is indeed a myth. Just eat where the locals eat and stay away from the dairy if the place doesn’t look like it specializes in lassi’s.
At present my mouth is watering.
